Student Committee
The NDWRH Student Committee is a student-led committee comprised of DPhil and MSc Research students, as well as a representative from the MSc in Clinical Embryology.
ABOUT THE COMMITTEE
The purpose of the committee is to foster a community environment within the department's student body across all sites and to encourage communication and feedback between students and staff within the department. NDWRH is spread over multiple sites* (see department sites at the bottom of this page); therefore, it is particularly important for the students to communicate and get together on a regular basis. The committee, therefore, aims to have a representative from each site hold a role in the committee.
The student committee’s president attends termly Graduate Joint Consultative Committee (GJCC) meetings within the Medical Sciences Division, departmental Studies Committee meetings, and Senior Staff meetings.
The student committee organises social events for DPhil and MRes students throughout the year and induction/welcome events for new students. The Welfare Reps offer students a peer-based outlet and can provide information on University resources. Where possible, these reps will have received Peer Support training and can offer a confidential support network.
Our students are based at a number of department sites, including
- The Women’s Centre (John Radcliffe Hospital)
- The Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (John Radcliffe Hospital)
- The Institute of Reproductive Sciences (IRS), Oxford Business Park.
