I am a third-year DPhil student and a graduate of the MSc in Clinical Embryology, working at the Institute of Reproductive Sciences under the supervision of Dr. Kevin Coward.

Before attending Oxford, I studied Biomedical Sciences at the University of Barcelona. During that time, I worked as an undergraduate researcher at the Barcelona Institute of Molecular Biology – Spanish National Research Council (IBMB-CSIC). Using Drosophila melanogaster as a model organism, we studied the mechanisms that control early animal development.

My DPhil research focuses on developing an extracellular vesicle-based, non-invasive biotherapeutic delivery system for reproductive cells. This innovative tool has the potential to support reproductive applications and aid in treating fertility-associated issues.

Succesful internalisation of BODIPY-labelled exosomes by embryos

BODIPY-labelled HEK293T cell-derived exosomes were successfully internalised by 8-cell embryos after direct injection. Above, representative 8-cell embryo injected with 10µl of a 50/50 mixture of BODIPY-labelled exosomes/PVP under blue and green fluorescence using Lamp Fluorescence Microscopy.
