APPLICATIONS FOR 2026/27
Applications for entry in 2026-27 are open. The deadline for applications is 12:00 midday UK time on Tuesday 2nd December 2025.
All applications for graduate study are processed on the University's Student System (further information below).

Entry requirements
As a minimum, applicants should hold or be predicted to achieve the following UK qualifications or their equivalent:
For MSc in Clinical Embryology
A first-class or strong upper second-class undergraduate degree with honours in a subject related to biology, biomedical science or a medical degree.
For MSc in Reproductive Genetics
A first-class or strong upper second-class undergraduate degree with honours in a field related to genetics (e.g. genetics, biology with genetics, biomedical science, molecular cell biology or medicine)
Further information
- Entrance is very competitive and most successful applicants have a first-class degree or the equivalent.
- For applicants with a degree from the USA, the minimum overall GPA that is normally required to meet the undergraduate-level requirement is 3.5 out of 4.0. However, entrance is very competitive and most successful applicants have a GPA of 3.7.

How to apply
We recommend that you aim to complete and submit your application at least two weeks in advance of the deadline.
Before applying, it’s important to familiarise yourself with the application process and deadlines. Oxford’s application guide provides advice on preparing a strong submission, and you can also use an interactive tool to assess whether your application is likely to be competitive. An application fee of £75 is payable per application, though fee waivers are available for eligible applicants, including those from low-income backgrounds, refugees and displaced persons, and previous applicants to Graduate Access Programmes.
You are not required to contact the course team before applying, though our team would love to answer any qucan answer questions you have. As part of Oxford’s commitment to fair access, socio-economic data is considered during the selection process to help contextualise applications.
When completing your application, make sure all supporting documents meet the stated requirements. For this course, details normally included in a CV should be entered directly into the application form, and a separate CV will not be accepted. Applicants must provide three referees (two academic), official transcripts, and a statement of purpose or personal statement of no more than 500 words.

The University of Oxford is a collegiate university. When you receive an offer from the Department then your application will also be considered for a place at a college.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I APPLY?
All applications are carefully considered by the Course Admissions Panel, which is currently comprised of the Course Director, a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow, the Course Coordinator and a Senior Clinician.
Admission decisions are notified to applicants in writing, regrettably it is not possible for the administrative team to discuss individual application decisions by phone.
