The INTERGROWTH-21st Consortium, led by researchers at the Nuffield Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, University of Oxford, has published the final set of charts that enable healthcare professionals worldwide to assess the weight, length and head circumference of newborns from 24 to 42 weeks of gestation, and that apply to all babies, regardless of the colour of their skin, race or ethnicity.

Healthcare Professionals app with newborn and preterm growth standards
Designed to allow healthcare providers to easily access and use the newborn size at birth and the postnatal preterm growth standards, the INTERGROWTH-21st app has been released this month, a project the Oxford Maternal and Perinatal Health Institute developed in collaboration with tech developer Olamalu.

Oxford Placental Ultrasound OxPLUS Study
The aim of this study is to establish if a new piece of computer software, called the ‘OxNNet toolkit’ can predict which babies will not grow as well as they should using the information gained from the 3D ultrasound scan about the size of the placenta and its blood flow, together with other known risk factors.
