Biography
I completed my Bachelor of Medical Sciences and Medical Doctor at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia. My DPhil in Women’s & Reproductive Health was awarded by the University of Oxford (Hertford College), under the supervision of Professor Stephen Kennedy, Dr Eleonora Staines-Urias, and Dr Joris Hemelaar. I was focusing my DPhil work on the South African INTERBIO-21st Study, assessing the effects of maternal HIV and antiretroviral therapy on adverse perinatal outcomes and foetal growth patterns. Prior to my current role, I was working as a clinician, lecturer, and Project Director/Technical Advisor to the Implementation of the Integrated Primary Health Care Project in Indonesia, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
RESEARCH
With Dr Michelle Fernandes and Professor José Villar, I work on the INTERGROWTH-21st Project and the INTERBIO-21st Study, examining associations between foetal brain maturation, sleep patterns and neurodevelopmental outcomes in preschoolers from geographically diverse populations (Brazil, India, Italy, Kenya, South Africa, Thailand, and the UK).
