Sarah Hutchinson
Researcher in Mitochondrial Function
After graduating from Oxford University in 1996 with a BA hons in Biochemistry, I completed a DPhil investigating ‘The Molecular Analysis of Marfan Syndrome’. This led on to further research involving Marfan syndrome and Homocystinuria, diseases which share a number of phenotypic similarities.
I joined the Department in 2015 working as a Research Technician with the OSPREA (Oxford Safer Pregnancy Alliance) Team.
Currently I am a member of the Morten research group (www.mortengroup.org.uk) with a focus on understanding the role of mitochondria in health and disease.
With our collaborators in Engineering Science (www.huanglab.web.ox.ac.uk), my research involves the use of Raman microscopy as a tool for studying the biology of aging in vitro.
