Rob Phillips
Communications & Public Engagement Manager
About me
My role within the department is Communications and Public Engagement Manager. I am one of seven operational managers reporting directly to the Head of Administration and Finance, playing a crucial part in steering the ship of our department towards success.
My role involves developing and implementing our department's communications and public engagement strategy. This entails working closely with my team to ensure our messages effectively reach our internal and external audiences through various communication channels, such as our department's website, newsletters, social media platforms, and media outlets.
With 15 years of experience in marketing and communications across both public and private sectors, I've held full-time and freelance roles. Additionally, I founded and directed a Micro-Marketing Agency specialising in cost-effective strategy, consultancy, and project delivery.
I'm genuinely enthusiastic about contributing to the university's continued success and promoting the exceptional work undertaken by our colleagues.
I can be found on Level 3 at the Women's Centre of the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, but I also work remotely in Cheltenham. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or if you'd like to explore potential collaborations.
Seminars
Our department hosts virtual seminars (for university members only to access) every Tuesday between 1pm and 2pm via Microsoft Teams Meetings.
