Rachel Reid-McCann

Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Epidemiology of Pain

  • PI group: Prof Vincent

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Pain in Women and EndoCaRe research groups. My research interests involve using large datasets, such as administrative data and cohort studies, to investigate prevalence and risk factors for pain, mental health and quality of life.

I am currently working on the RoADPain study, using data from the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC) to investigate whether adolescent dysmenorrhoea (period pain) increases the risk of chronic pain in young adulthood.

Prior to joining the group, I completed a PhD in Nutritional Epidemiology and a Master of Public Health (MPH) at Queen’s University Belfast.
