Mara Duvnjak

Clinical Research Assistant

I joined the OSPREA (Oxford Safer Pregnancy Alliance) Team in 2020 as a Research Technician. With my co-worker Judith Asselin, I am responsible for the processing, storage and distribution of research samples collected from patients participating in a number of studies. This involves liaising with the departmental Research Midwives who recruit women and collect the relevant samples (blood, urine, placenta, umbilical cord) for us to process. The samples are then uploaded to a database and stored, or transported to commercial and academic partners.

I also assist with general laboratory duties such as receiving and distributing deliveries and maintaining liquid nitrogen cell bank tanks
