Kirralise Hansford

Postdoctoral Researcher

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Pain in Women group currently working on the PrePOSE study, which aims to Predict the Pain Outcome of Surgery for Endometriosis.

I am interested in investigating how the body and brain perceive chronic pain, and the intersection between chronic pain and neurodivergent conditions.

I completed a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuroimaging at the University of York in 2024, which investigated non-pharmaceutical treatment methods for chronic hand-based pain. I completed my MSc in Neuroimaging Methods and Applications at Cardiff University (2021), and my BSc (Hons) in Psychology at the University of Plymouth (2019).

Throughout my academic career I have engaged with several open science initiatives and roles, and I am currently a 2025 Ambassador for Open Science at the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging.
