Profile
I am a Senior Mixed Methods Implementation Research Scientist and Deputy Director of the MSc in Global Women’s Health at the University of Oxford. I am also an elected Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences, a Visiting Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Johannesburg, and Professor of Bioethics at EUCLID University.
My research and practice sit at the intersection of implementation science, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), maternal health, empirical bioethics, community engagement, and health systems strengthening.
I currently serve on the Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee of the WHO Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases (WHO-TDR), the UNFPA Sexual and Reproductive Health Agency Technical Advisory Group, the International Medical Advisory Panel of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), and the WHO Advisory Group on Sexual Health and Well-being. I have also contributed to technical working groups on Public Health Intelligence Report and Community and Public Engagement at Africa CDC.
My work is driven by a commitment to meaningful community engagement, knowledge democratization, health politics and diplomacy, evidence critique, science communication, and the practical - meaningful decolonization of global health.
I have published extensively on SRHR, community engagement, health equity, and decolonizing global health.
