I am a Neonatologist with broad clinical, academic, and research experience, specialized in neonatal intensive care. I earned my MD from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where I also completed my residency in Pediatrics, a subspecialty in Neonatology, and a High Specialty in Neonatal Intensive Care.
I’ve worked as an attending physician in top-level NICUs across Mexico City, including the National Institute of Perinatology, American British Cowdray Medical Center (Santa Fe), and Hospital Infantil Privado. As part of my academic training, I also earned a Master’s in Medical Sciences at UNAM, contributing to a research project on the impact of antibiotics on the gut microbiota of preterm newborns.
In parallel with clinical work, I’ve coordinated multiple training courses on neonatal resuscitation and ventilation, promoting high standards of critical care practice among healthcare teams. I’ve also been actively involved in research focused on neonatal clinical nutrition.
During my specialty training, I completed neonatal palliative care training in the Netherlands — an experience that deeply inspired my ongoing commitment to this field. Since then, I’ve helped integrate neonatal palliative care programs in Mexico City and am eager to continue growing and contributing to this essential area of practice.
Currently, I am part of the University of Oxford’s INTERGROWTH-21st Project, where I lead the INTERPRACTICE-21st (Body composition study), working to advance global standards for early life growth and development.
I am passionate about improving neonatal outcomes through evidence-based care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and compassionate, family-centered approaches.
