Nanoparticles for cancer treatment
Abu Hanifah Ramadhani is a first-year DPhil student at the Nuffield Department of Women’s and Reproductive Health working under the supervision of Prof. Helen Townley. He completed his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Brawijaya (Indonesia) in 2019. During his undergraduate study, he was elected as the President of the Biology Student’s Association (2018) and received the prestigious title of the Most Outstanding Student in the Faculty upon the completion of his study.
His research interest lies in tumor immunology, where he analyzed the formation of angiogenesis derived from the hypoxic tumor microenvironment (TME) from the breast and kidney tissues. He also analyzed the effects of immunosuppressive T cells and macrophages in which tumor develops.
In 2021, he was awarded the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) Scholarship to fund his DPhil research with Prof. Helen Townley’s group to discover potential Nanoparticles (NPs) that could target cancer effectively.
