Following successful residences at Camden and Bethnal Green, The Vagina Musuem moved to it's permanent home in November 2023. Located under the railway arches in Bethnal Green, they partnered with Wellcome Trust to have their launch exhibition, Endometriosis: Into the Unknown - a topic they'd been asked about repeatedly by their visitors over previous years.
EndoCaRe Oxford were pleased to be invited to partner with the Vagina Museum on this event, with the team providing key information on symptoms, diagnosis and current research as well as taking part in several events. We worked on making sure the information was factual, recorded videos for their website and took part in panel discussions, all with the aim of raising awareness of endometriosis and promoting the current research.
Successful event raising awareness
Since opening, the exhibition has had almost 11,000 visitors. A visitor survey found that 83% of visitors said they felt the exhibition succeeded in breaking stigma and misconceptions about endometriosis; and 84% said they felt more motivated to support endometriosis research in future. 75% said they were likely to recommend the exhibition to friends or family.
