Abstract :

The Translational Research Office (TRO) sits within the Medical Sciences Division of the university and can advise researchers on the translational potential of their research projects ensuring progression towards novel applications. We work closely with researchers to develop a ‘roadmap to implementation’ on their approaches ranging from novel therapies to medical devices or clinical trials. We also host the Entrepreneur and Experts in Residence programmes that provides researchers opportunities to leverage world-leading expertise and advice across multiple industry sectors.

Bio :

Dr Kavita Subramaniam joined the TRO in January 2023. Some of her portfolio activities include building on external funding opportunities, allocating resources for internal funding strands, providing advice on the translational pathway planning and supporting researchers in their translational grant applications.  Prior to joining the TRO, she was a research fellow at St John’s Institute of Dermatology, King’s College London working on gene manipulation approaches and a patient-friendly delivery system for rare skin diseases. No stranger to Oxford, she was a postdoctoral researcher with WRH, working with the Becker/Zondervan group on the role of vasculature in uterine fibroid-related heavy menstrual bleeding.
