Eytan R. Barnea, MD FACOG is a practicing clinician for the past 40 years. A double board certified in obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive endocrinology by ACOG, trained at Yale University as clinician and translational clinical researcher he was for ~20 years director of Ob&Gyn at CAMcare and now is Senior Consultant for fertility and endocrine patients at Trinity Care.

Dr. Barnea is an internationally recognized, awarded investigator in early pregnancy translational research and its’ implications to patient treatment. Throughout his career he continuously combined clinical work with research, drawing from clinical reality to implement and adapt research to clinical translational use. Dr. Barnea is involved in project study design, project management, data analysis, grant reviews and peer-reviewed publications, responsible for each program from design to execution and reporting. He is CSO and current Scientific Point-of-Contact at BioIncept, LLC., created to translate the PIF he discovered and develops from scientific discovery to clinical use.

Among Dr. Barnea’s awards he was bestowed the Elkeles Prize ‘Scientist of the Year in Medicine’ award from the Israel Health Ministry / Jewish National Fund in 1989 and in 2012 awarded the Kyril Bratanov medal in recognition for his contribution to Reproductive Immunology. As three-time elected member of FIGO’s (Int’l Federation of Ob&Gyn) committee of Safe Mother and Newborn Health task (SMNH), and now Childbirth and Postpartum Hemorrhage. Dr. Barnea participates in setting world-wide Ob&Gyn treatment policies. He gave FIGO’s world conference opening plenary lecture in front of 10,000 Ob&Gyns in 2018.

Dr. Barnea has authored/co-authored ~240 peer reviewed manuscripts and chapters; journals include Nature / CDD, PNAS, PloS one, Oncotarget, AJOG, including position papers in The Lancet and IJGO. He initiated (and co-edited) 4 specialty textbooks including one with Robert Edwards, Nobel Prize, father of IVF aptly named Embryonal Medicine and Therapy (Oxford Press). Dr. Barnea is the founder of SIEP, The Society for the Investigation of Early Pregnancy, a not-for-profit academic society (1996)
