SUPERVISORS
To discuss project options, please email endocare@wrh.ox.ac.uk detailing your specific research interests and attach a copy of your CV.
DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
As part of EndometriosisCaRe Oxford https://www.wrh.ox.ac.uk/research/endometriosis-care you will work to advance our knowledge of endometriosis and/or adenomyosis lesion progression.
Projects are welcome across various avenues of research, which could include:
- Histological analysis of the cellular composition of endometriosis lesions, studying the differences between lesion types.
- Human organoid models for the analysis of eutopic epithelium cell growth and drug treatment options.
- Inflammation and cellular immunity in endometriosis.
- Extracellular vesicles (EVs) in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.
Training opportunities
You will be trained in a wide variety of laboratory techniques: flow cytometry, specific EV analysis techniques such as Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA), tissue culture, western blotting, IHC including fluorescence and confocal microscopy, PCR and RT-PCR, sequencing transcriptome analysis, ELISA.
There will be opportunities to present work within the department, and at national & international conferences. Students are encouraged to prepare and submit manuscripts.
As well as the specific training detailed above, students will have access to a wide-range of seminars and training opportunities within the University of Oxford network.
