Anna Maria Hage

MD, Dr. med.

Health Services Researcher

Biography

Anna joined the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit (NPEU) as a member of the Health Economics Team in May 2026.

She is a medical doctor and health services researcher committed to improving healthcare delivery through patient-centred research, and the development and evaluation of healthcare interventions. She received medical training in Germany and Australia and holds a Dr. med. from Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, where she conducted research in women’s health and health services research.

Anna's work has centred on value-based healthcare and the design, implementation, and evaluation of patient-centred interventions in clinical care. Her experience spans multicentre clinical studies, registries, patient-reported outcomes, digital health interventions, and implementation science, particularly in women's health.

During her doctoral research, she implemented a registry for young women with breast cancer to address a significant evidence gap for this patient population. By integrating clinical, molecular, and patient-reported data, the multicentre registry infrastructure with electronic patient follow-up enables real-world clinical research and advanced understanding of patient's healthcare needs and outcomes.
