Thomas Fisher

Research Assistant in Machine Learning

Tom studied mathematics at Cambridge before a masters in machine learning at University College London. He is interested in using data-driven approaches for international development and global health applications. He wrote his MSc thesis on timeseries forecasting for malaria prevalence in western sub-Saharan Africa using hybrid models. 

Tom is working in Prof Kazem Rahimi's group, in particular the Informal Cities programme where he is using machine learning techniques to predict health outcomes in slums and informal settlements.

Outside of work Tom can be found playing sport or at the gym. He is also passionate about music.
