Characterising placental extracellular vesicles in preeclampsia.

BIOGRAPHY

I completed MBBS degree with First Class Honours from University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka in 2011. After graduation, I completed my internship at Colombo Group of Hospitals in 2013 and was appointed as Medical Officer of Paediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery at Lady Ridgeway Hospital, Colombo, Sri Lanka. In pursuit of my passion of teaching, I joined as a Lecturer in the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University in 2015.

Currently I am starting my first year as a DPhil student under the guidance and supervision of Dr Manu Vatish at the Nuffield Department for Women's and Reproductive Health. Our main objective is to characterise the placental extracellular vesicles and their cargo to understand the pathophysiology of preeclampsia.
