Clinical Trials Manager

Biography

I completed a Masters in Nursing Science at the University of Nottingham (2003-2007) before coming to Oxford to practice as a nurse. I worked in tropical and infectious diseases and spent a short time working in Cambodia on a study investigating malarial drug resistance.

I then went on to study midwifery at Oxford Brookes University and qualified in 2010. I have since worked in a variety of settings within the John Radcliffe Hospital including Delivery Suite, The Spires and Level 7

I joined the Nuffield department of Women's and Reproductive Health in 2014 following a long term interest in research and evidence based care.  I worked as a Research Midwife on a variety of studies- my role involved the recruitment of participants as well as study management.

Current work

I am currently the Clinical Trials Manager within the department. I manage a team of OSPREA/Gynae research staff and oversee the research delivery within the unit. I am involved in the identification of new research studies and the set up and management of such studies. I also support members of the department who are preparing new research study applications to ensure that they are in-line with current governance and guidelines .

I enjoy my role hugely as it involves working with a brilliant team who are all striving towards a common goal-the best possible care and outcomes for women and their babies.
