I graduated from the University of Nottingham with a Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree with honours- BmedSci (Hons) in 2002 and Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery- BMBS in 2004. I completed my clinical training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Yorkshire Deanery and East Midlands Healthcare Workforce deanery, obtaining my CCT in 2013. I then decided to pursue a combined clinical and academic career and commenced a Clinical Research Fellow job at the Nuffield Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology until 2016. In 2014, I successfully applied for a Master of Science by research in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Oxford. I have completed a PGDip in Healthcare Education at Sheffield Hallam University. I am a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. I currently work as a Consultant Locum in Gynaecology and Obstetrics at University Hospitals Leicester and am joint Audit lead for the department.


My current research involves studying how gestational weight gain and maternal anthropometry affect newborn body composition. During my time at NDOG, I have carried out a systematic review into the quality of methodology in studies creating gestational weight gain standards. My supervisors are Prof. Kennedy, Dr Leila Cheikh-Ismail and Dr. Jane E. Hirst.


I am proficient in the management of a wide range of complex obstetric and gynaecological problems. My areas of special interest are Advanced Labour Ward Practice, Early Pregnancy, Emergency Gynaecology and Medial Education. I am also interested in Global maternal heath and Recurrent miscarriage. I am certified to perform early pregnancy and gynaecology ultrasound scanning to an advanced degree. In addition I carry out outpatient hysteroscopy clinics and a wide range of gynaecological operations.
