Clare Edwards

Research Midwife

I studied Midwifery at Thames Valley University, qualifying with a BSc in 2009. I started working at Oxford University Hospitals in 2010 and have worked in many clinical settings within the Women's Centre. My particular passion is working with women with high risk medical conditions during pregnancy and spent three years working alongside the multidisciplinary team in the Fetal Maternal Medicine Unit.

I joined the Nuffield Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in September 2015 and currently work as a Research Midwife on the 4P study. The aim of the study is to collate a database of maternal observations during pregnancy and the postpartum period in order to support the development of an evidence based early warning system. This will help doctors and midwives identify sick and deteriorating pregnant women earlier than we are currently able to.
