Bethan Swift

BSc (Hons), MSc (Oxon)

DPhil student

  • PI Group: Prof Krina Zondervan and Dr Christian Becker

I joined the Nuffield Department of Women’s and Reproductive Health in October 2019 to study for a DPhil under the supervision of Dr Nilufer Rahmioglu, Professor Krina Zondervan and Professor Christian Becker. I am based at the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics and funded by the Bahceci scholarship.

I am working on the Cyprus Women’s Health Research (COHERE) Initiative project, which will provide the first systematically collected population health data for women in Northern Cyprus. Using this data, the project aims to estimate and understand the burden caused by endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and uterine fibroids (UF), and their associated co-morbidities, as well as investigating potential lifestyle and genetic risk factors in this population of women.

Prior to this, I completed an MSc in Global Health Science and Epidemiology at University of Oxford and hold a BSc in Biology from University of Leeds.
