Biography

I am a first-year research student currently in MRes/DPhil course at the Nuffield Department of Women's and Reproductive Health under the supervision of Prof Jane Hirst.

In 2012, I completed my BSc in Nursing at IUBAT University, Bangladesh and I was a College of Nursing faculty member for two years. In 2018, I completed my MSc in International Health at the University of Uppsala, Sweden. For my study, I received a scholarship from the Swedish government.

My professional focus is reproductive health and I recently wrote an editorial on the high rate of C-sections in Bangladesh that was published in a leading Dhaka newspaper. Due to the patriarchal nature of family relations in Bangladesh, I intend to research the decision-making role of Bangladeshi men in C-sections. My career goal is to return to Bangladesh to teach and work for NGOs promoting reproductive health.
