Abstract:
Kisspeptin in the human male brain This talk will focus on a series of fMRI studies that aimed to explore the effects of the reproductive hormone kisspeptin on the human male brain and behaviour. Although we know that kisspeptin is expressed in the hypothalamus, its role in other brain regions and specifically in the limbic system as well as its interaction with behaviour had not been explored until recently. In this talk we’ll disentangle what we have learned in the last 5 years about the effect of kisspeptin on sexual and emotional processing of visual stimuli, appetite, olfactory cues and resting state using imaging techniques.
